Goat Log 010910: ELENA ERBER uses Haute Goat Cashmere scraps...

Elena Erber has been using Haute Goat cashmere sweater scraps to create beautiful one-of-a-kind sweaters! WOW! I've been selling cashmere sweater scraps to other crafters and am amazed by what they come up with! And, lest I forget to mention it - Elena also makes straps for accordion players -check out her etsy shop

Goat Log 010810: AYO uses Haute Goat Cashmere buttons...

Wanda of Ayo hand knits all her own scarves - out of wonderful yarns like 100% alpaca and 100% cashmere. Then she embellishes them with buttons - cool vintage buttons or better yet cashmere buttons from Haute Goat!

Little Cashmere Hoot

In an effort to find uses for every last piece of cashmere, I sent some scraps to my friend Kayce at On a Whimm to make plush owls. I saw the owls last weekend - and I have to say they are ADORABLE (and not just because I am biased). You can find the owls in her online shop - or at any of the summer fairs where she will be selling this summer.

This just in... screen printing

I just received the sample print from Kelly (at TomatoTomato). [drum roll please...]

This is a design of hers that we used to test the screen and ink on cashmere. I am so excited how it turned out! (Yes, look beyond the blob and the whole - this was only a test run.) The cashmere took the ink really well!

Now we are planning other designs that will be available for wide scarves this fall.
Stay tuned.

Cashmere Eye Pillows!

I collaborated w/ Lindsey at Love Me Knot Creations to make lavender eye pillows. They turned out SO soft, I think anyone could relax with this pillow over their eyes! They have wonderful weight and drape - it's like giant adult beanbag. They measure about 4"x9". 4 colors available (blue, pink, yellow, beige).

The pillows are made out of 100% reclaimed cashmere, lined with reclaimed cotton guaze (from IKEA curtains), filled with wheat berries that ave been treated with lavender fragrance oil.

You can use the pillow at room temp., as a cold pack (freeze in a freezer bag for 1-2 hours) or as a hot pack (microwave for 30 -45 seconds).

Right now, the eyepillows will only available in the EtsyRain etsy shop (this is a shop of works by Seattle artists & craftspeople) - ok, right now meaning sometime this morning when the listing goes active, it's not quite there yet and I don't have time to blog later...
